A new side to Trimiklini

Hi Everyone. Today began blandly enough, but got better as it went on. Helen started with the school run, then raced out for a haircut and to pay a stack of bills. I was pleased to be left alone to go through the presentation. Its starting to sound a little familiar.

At about noon we set off to Trimiklini. We were invited for lunch, but lunch drifted into afternoon tea and we didn’t head back to Limassol till 5.30. Thank god we don’t have an evening meal as the lunches are really huge. Di and Co have adopted a playful ginger kitten they’ve called Moggy. Stella has organized for a neighbor to mind him after they leave the village.

To wear off some of the lunch we took a massive walk around the village. This time we took a different route and went up past Litha’s village house, (a grand 3 bedroom affair that they are having re-clad in stone).

On the outskirts of Trimiklini there are a range of new estates…new stone houses with all mod cons, including large swimming pools. This was a very different view of Trimiklini than the one we saw last time.

We walked for miles (literally) and it all seemed to be up hills. We could see many signs of the devastation caused by the torrential rains a couple of days ago. Our neighbor in Trimiklini said our tenant was complaining bitterly that the house had leaked. We were planning to drop by with an ironing board for her but on hearing that we might get complaints, we left the ironing board with Ian to drop in later. We also met a woman that Helen employed as the cook, when she was managing the Jasmine Hotel. Both she and her husbad treated Helen as a long lost relative.

We rested briefly at home. Helen delivered Danae to Starbucks, as shs going out with friends. Then we went to the handsome Antoni for the dental work on the broken filling. It was totally painless and trouble free.He must be the only dentist anywhere in the world, that is prepared to open his surgery at 9.30pm on a friday. The only problem was his absolute refusal to accept payment despite my loud protestations. I'll have to find a gift. I wish we could smuggle him into the hand luggage and bring him over to Oz. He makes Laurie look a very pale second.
I'll keep you posted. Love, Lily
